Make learning fun
The client came to us wanting a whole collection of games covering different subjects — science, history, math and more — with a game built around each topic to make it easier for kids to learn.
The brief for the first title: turn how the universe came to be into something a child would actually want to play, not just read about.
Scope, milestones and a feedback loop
Understanding the requirement
The first game in the collection was Rulo Cosmos, where kids learn how the cosmos was created and how atoms work — all through small, playful mini-games.
Breaking it into milestones
The game is really a collection of mini-games, so each mini-game became its own milestone that we built and delivered independently.
Development & feedback loop
At every milestone we gathered the client's feedback and folded it into the next iteration — for example, whenever a player loses, the game shows an encouraging Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam quote to nudge kids to try again.
A collection of mini-games
Each mini-game lets kids interact with a concept hands-on. In one they combine quarks and discover that atoms are built from them; in another they drag each planet into its place in the solar system; in a third they piece together the building blocks of life on Earth. Every idea is taught through a small, fun game instead of a textbook.
